Most people start to see initial results from Neurotoxin injections within 3-5 days, with full results typically visible after 14 days. An individual’s onset of action may vary according to the product used and individual factors.

Results generally last 3-4 months. However, this can vary based on the treatment area, dosage, individual metabolism, and muscle strength. Some people may find their results last longer with repeated treatments.

Neurotoxin treatments have minimal downtime. It is usually possible for people to return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. There is a possibility of temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These usually resolve within a few days. Before treatment, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for about a week to reduce the risk of bruising. After treatment, stay upright for 4 hours, avoid touching or rubbing the treated area, and skip strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Your provider will give you specific pre- and post-treatment instructions tailored to your needs.

During treatment, your provider will clean the area and apply topical numbing cream if desired. Then, using a very fine needle, they inject the neurotoxin into certain muscles. The procedure usually takes 10-20 minutes. The sensation is usually described as a brief pinch, with minimal discomfort.
