Book too early and results fade; too late and your skin can’t settle. Here’s exactly when to schedule Botox, fillers, and laser treatments before your big day.
You have something big coming up. A wedding, a holiday party, a reunion, a milestone birthday, an important work event. You want to look your best, but you’re not sure which treatments to book, or, more importantly, when to book them. Too early, and some results might fade. Too late, and your skin won’t have time to fully settle. So what’s the actual answer?
Here’s the real timing guide for the most popular treatments people book before big events: Botox, fillers, laser treatments, and skin rejuvenation, so you never have to guess again.
Botox: at least 3 to 4 weeks before your event. Here’s what most people don’t realize: Botox doesn’t work the moment you walk out the door. Most people start noticing results within 3 to 5 days, but full results take 7 to 14 days to completely develop. Working backwards from that, your final Botox appointment should be at least 3 to 4 weeks before your event. That gives results time to fully settle, and any minor swelling or bruising time to completely resolve.
If you’ve never had Botox before, the timeline is different. First-timers should plan their first treatment at least 3 to 6 months before a major event. This gives you time to see how your body responds, make any adjustments, and leaves room for a touch-up closer to the date. Your first appointment is also your provider learning your face, and you don’t want to figure that out two weeks before photos.
Fillers: at least 2 weeks before, ideally 3 to 4. Fillers are a little more forgiving on timing, since results are more immediate. But swelling can happen, especially in areas like the lips. A safe rule is to book fillers at least 2 weeks before your event, and ideally 3 to 4 weeks out, so everything looks completely natural and settled.
“The goal isn’t to look like you had something done. It’s to walk into your event feeling completely like yourself, just rested and refreshed.”
Laser skin treatments: this is where people get caught off guard. Treatments like Moxi, BBL, and CoolPeel are some of the most popular ways to get that glowing, even, refreshed complexion before a big event. The results are beautiful, but the timing matters. After Moxi, you can expect some redness and a sandpaper-like texture for about 3 to 4 days as the skin renews itself, those are the damaged cells coming to the surface, and what’s left underneath is glowing skin. By week two, most visible side effects are gone, and skin begins to feel smoother and brighter. Full results become increasingly noticeable between weeks 4 to 6 as collagen production continues.
So for Moxi or BBL, book at least 2 weeks before your event at the absolute minimum, and 4 weeks is even better, especially if it’s your first time. CoolPeel is similar. Most people resume normal activities within 24 to 48 hours, making it one of the more flexible options, but you still want at least 1 to 2 weeks before a big event so your skin has time to fully glow up.
Micro-needling: at least 2 to 4 weeks before. Total visible downtime is typically 3 to 5 days, with the most noticeable redness in the first 24 to 48 hours. Schedule micro-needling at least 2 to 4 weeks before your event. Booking earlier also allows for multiple sessions if needed.
Here’s the big takeaway from all of it. Every treatment has a window, and the people who feel most confident at their events are always the ones who planned ahead, not the ones rushing in the week before. The goal with any of these treatments isn’t to look like you had something done. It’s to walk into your event feeling completely like yourself, just rested, refreshed, and at your best.
